I was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1959. I graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Arts in 1982, went to the School of the Art Institute at Chicago from 1991-94 and graduated from Dominican University in 2003 with a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. My art has been exhibited extensively. Exhibitions include the Athenaeum Museum of Art and Design in Schaumburg; The DuSable Museum of African American History; the Chicago Cultural Center; "Free Expression Art," New York. It has been reviewed by the Chicago Tribune, Pioneer Press, the Chicago Sun Times, and the Chicago Public Radio, 91.5 FM. My artwork has received several awards, including an award for a drawing entered into the Chicago Society of Artists Block Print Calendar in 2006. I am a former member and past PR Director of The Art House in Oak Park, which was an internationally recognized artist’s cooperative active from 1997 until 2006.

 Artist’s Statement


As an artist I create Conceptual Art digital collages and 3-D Arte Povera artwork.


My art is meant to communicate to the viewer; to be a means of self-expression; to empower myself; to be a tool to understand myself and the world around me.
